Africa-Press – South-Africa. <\/strong><\/span>Police arrested a suspect on Thursday in connection with the kidnapping of four people \u2013 two in Motetema, Limpopo and two in Vaalbank, Mpumalanga \u2013 but a second suspect is still at large.<\/p>\n

According to police spokesperson, Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, the two Motetema victims were kidnapped by two people in a Mini Cooper after they were accused of stealing television sets in the Motetema policing area.<\/p>\n

One of the alleged kidnappers was traced to Vaalbank in Mpumalanga and was arrested on Thursday.<\/p>\n

“…the driver of [the] Mini Cooper evaded an arrest,” Ledwaba added.<\/p>\n

Police officers rescued the 20- and 26-year-old Motetema kidnapping victims, as well as the Mpumalanga kidnapping victims.<\/p>\n

“The four victims had serious injuries and were taken to a hospital for medical treatment,” Ledwaba said.<\/p>\n

“The arrested suspect will soon appear before [the] magistrate’s court in Motetema. The police investigations are still continuing,” Ledwaba added.<\/p>\n

Provincial police commissioner, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, welcomed the arrest and called on community members to provide information that could lead to more arrests.<\/p>\n
