Africa-Press – South-Africa. <\/strong><\/span>Cold, windy and wet conditions will persist in the Eastern Cape as very cold conditions, and the possibility of snow, are expected over parts of the province on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Disruptive snow fell over the southern Drakensberg, particularly the Senqu and Elundini local municipalities, resulting in the isolated loss of vulnerable livestock and crops, as well as traffic disruptions.<\/p>\n

The SA Weather Service said the cold weather experienced in parts of the Eastern Cape was the result of a cold front which passed through on Thursday. On Thursday, the weather office issued a yellow level 2 warning for damaging winds over much of the Eastern Cape interior.<\/p>\n

“A frosty morning, otherwise slightly windy weather, with a recovery in daytime temperatures is expected on Friday as another cold front approaches the country,” said forecaster Lelo Kleinbooi.<\/p>\n

Windy conditions are expected across the province on Saturday, with a chance of showers and rain along the south coast during the latter part of the day.<\/p>\n

Slightly windy conditions are expected in places on Sunday, otherwise generally fine and cold weather can be expected.<\/p>\n
