Africa-Press – South-Africa. <\/strong><\/span>The Free State High Court, sitting in Virginia, sentenced a 37-year-old serial killer and rapist to four life terms behind bars on Thursday after he was found guilty of raping and murdering three women.<\/p>\n

Benedict Tshediso Rantsheuoa had previously been accused of the attempted murder of one of the women, according to police spokesperson Captain Stephen Thakeng.<\/p>\n

Thabong police found the body of his first two victims – women aged 36 and 39 – in February 2018, near to a cemetery in Thubelisha.<\/p>\n

The women were half naked, had suffered multiple injuries to their eyes, and “their intestines were protruding from their stomachs and hanged on a nearby wire”.<\/p>\n

The third victim, 44, was found in a similar state in April 2019 – five months after she had opened an attempted murder and assault case against Rantsheuoa.<\/p>\n

Rantsheuoa was acquitted of the attempted murder and assault in the Welkom Magistrate’s Court.<\/p>\n

Acting Lejweleputswa district commissioner, Brigadier Mzondi Mojafi, applauded the investigating officer for “a thorough investigation” and for his dedication.<\/p>\n

“We hope this will send a strong message to people abusing women,” Mojafi said.<\/p>\n
