Africa-Press – South-Africa. <\/strong><\/span>The African National Congress (ANC) says it has disqualified four of its members from its public representatives list, who were implicated in the State Capture Report.<\/p>\n

In the same breath, the party says it has also included some members implicated in the report.<\/p>\n

In a media briefing at Luthuli House in Johannesburg, the party explained that each candidate was assessed on a case-by-case basis.<\/p>\n

There were over 90 ANC members who appeared before the party\u2019s Integrity Committee on charges relating to the State Capture Commission report.<\/p>\n

ANC National Spokesperson Mahlengi Bhengu-Motsiri said some were cleared by the committee, and some were not.<\/p>\n

She said that it is important to note that being implicated in the State Capture report is not the same as being found guilty in a court of law.<\/p>\n

\u201cOf course, public representatives, leaders of the ANC have a much bigger moral obligation to take the issue, any allegation as seriously as possible when people are implicated which is why we are strengthening these oversight institutions which are meant to assist us with ethics and integrity management within the organisation.\u201d<\/p>\n

The ANC said it will release its candidate’s list on Monday for public scrutiny or affirmation.<\/p>\n
