Africa-Press – South-Africa. <\/strong><\/span>The ANC said it\u2019s asked to meet up with King Misuzulu to apologise for what transpired between its provincial leader, Siboniso Duma, and the Zulu Prime Minister on Saturday.<\/p>\n

African National Congress officials in KwaZulu-Natal have requested a meeting with King Misuzulu kaZwelithini to apologise for the drama involving its chairperson, Siboniso Duma.<\/p>\n

The dramatic scenes where Duma snatched the microphone away from traditional Prime Minister Thulasizwe Buthelezi happened in the presence of the king, during the commemoration of the late King Dinuzulu in KwaCeza, near Ulundi, on Saturday.<\/p>\n

While the party has publicly apologised for this, it said there’s a need for its leadership to meet the Zulu monarch.<\/p>\n

The party spoke to journalists in Durban on Wednesday. ANC provincial secretary, Bheki Mtolo, admitted that the drama should have not played out at the gathering.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat has happened in KwaCeza was not supposed to happen in your presence and the presence of the president, the premier and amakhosi (chiefs) and as we know the culture…\u201d<\/p>\n

Mtolo told journalists that if all goes well, the meeting would take place at one of the king\u2019s palaces on Friday.<\/p>\n

The provincial chairperson of the House of Traditional Leaders, chief Sifiso Shinga, is set to form part of the delegation.<\/p>\n

The ANC said it would accept whatever fine or punishment they get from the monarch.<\/p>\n
