Africa-Press – South-Africa. <\/strong><\/span>President Cyril Ramaphosa says as South Africa is approaching a critical election season, political parties require strength as they contest the general polls.<\/p>\n

Ramaphosa was speaking at a church in Bloemfontein on Friday, as part of his Easter weekend programme.<\/p>\n

He has urged South Africans to pray for the government and a peaceful election on 29 May.<\/p>\n

The president also asked those who believe in divine intervention to pray for the Independent Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC).<\/p>\n

“We would like the IEC to be strengthened so that they are able to leave no one behind and do their work as laid out in the election.”<\/p>\n

Sharing the same sentiments, DA leader John Steenhuisen said Christians should pray for a peaceful transition should a new government reign supreme.<\/p>\n

“As Christians come together to celebrate Easter and the miracle of peace, hope and renewal, I call on South Africans to pray for a peaceful election.”<\/p>\n
