Africa-Press – South-Africa. <\/strong><\/span>The Johannesburg High Court handed down the judgment on Wednesday, ordering the ANC to hand over the documents to the official opposition within 15 days and cover its application costs.<\/p>\n

he African National Congress (ANC) has 15 days to hand over its cadre deployment records to the Democratic Alliance (DA) following a court judgment finding the governing party in contempt of court.<\/p>\n

The Johannesburg High Court handed down the judgment on Wednesday, instructing the ANC to cover the costs of the application brought to it by the DA.The judgment stems from a Constitutional Court ruling from 2021 that the DA believes was not honoured by the ANC.<\/p>\n

The DA welcomed the Johannesburg High Court’s decision compelling the ANC to hand over cadre deployment records for the period between 2013 and 2018.<\/p>\n

The party said the ANC should ensure that it adhered to the regulations outlined by the high court.<\/p>\n

This is the second time that the official opposition party has taken the legal route to get the cadre deployment records from the ruling party.<\/p>\n

Earlier in 2024, the Pretoria High Court dismissed this application, arguing it was based on speculation.<\/p>\n
