Africa-Press – South-Africa. <\/strong><\/span>ANC deputy president, Paul Mashatile, was on the campaign trail in Sebokeng, south of Johannesburg, on Sunday where he told residents the ANC wasn\u2019t spooked by naysayers.<\/p>\n

The African National Congress (ANC) said it\u2019s leaving nothing to chance as the party gears up for what\u2019s been described as its most difficult elections since 1994.<\/p>\n

ANC deputy president, Paul Mashatile, was on the campaign trail in Sebokeng, south of Johannesburg, on Sunday where he told residents the ANC wasn\u2019t spooked by naysayers.The latest opinion poll published by market research firm, Ipsos, has revised the ANC\u2019s popularity down again.<\/p>\n

The survey suggests that the ANC will only narrowly make it past the 40% mark, with unhappiness among voters being the biggest drag.<\/p>\n

This is lower than February\u2019s reading of 40.5% and 43% in October.<\/p>\n

Gauteng is among provinces where the ANC is expected to lose grip.<\/p>\n

With 29 days to go to the polls, Mashatile said the party\u2019s plan to retain favour with voters in the province was simple.<\/p>\n

“The strategy of the ANC is living among communities, being with them all the time, is the best strategy going forward.”<\/p>\n

Mashatile said it had a list of priorities to address that the party believed could buy it another five years in power, including improved service delivery and efficient governance.<\/p>\n
