Africa-Press – South-Africa. <\/strong><\/span>The ANC\u2019s deputy president was campaigning in Sebokeng on Sunday amid criticisms the governing party was too slow to address some of the country\u2019s challenges.<\/p>\n

African National Congress (ANC) deputy president, Paul Mashatile, said the governing party was working around the clock to address a range of socioeconomic challenges faced by the country.<\/p>\n

Mashatile made the comments during a door-to-door campaign in Sebokeng, south of Johannesburg, on Sunday.He was among ANC top brass who were on the ground this past weekend, gauging the temperature ahead of May\u2019s all-important elections.<\/p>\n

Mashatile\u2019s campaign trail comes at a time when the party has been criticised for being slow to address some of the country\u2019s challenges, including poor service delivery in Sebokeng.<\/p>\n

He denied the party was only buying face to win elections.<\/p>\n

“We\u2019re not going to do this just for elections. This is work we must do beyond the elections. We\u2019re going to keep to very tight frames to address the issues of the residents here. Sebokeng is the home of the ANC, and we must make sure that the issues that they raise are attended to and we\u2019re going to do just that.”<\/p>\n
