Africa-Press – South-Africa. <\/strong><\/span>The vote count in the Eastern Cape is not far from completion, with the African National Congress (ANC) set for another landslide victory.<\/p>\n

The ANC is currently leading the pack with 65% of the vote, followed by the Democratic Alliance (DA) at a distant 12%.<\/p>\n

The Eastern Cape joins provinces like the North West and Limpopo, who are all sitting at over 60 percent.<\/p>\n

IEC officials in the province are meeting with political parties to deal with certain objections as part of the Party Liaison Committee.<\/p>\n

ActionSA provincial leader, Athol Trollip, accepted the ANC’s landslide but had some questions for Eastern Cape voters.<\/p>\n

“The people are still voting in the majority for the ANC and I can\u2019t work it out. I can’t fathom it. because I spend every day of my life in the Eastern Cape. We have the highest unemployment, we have the worst socio-economic indices and people are still voting for the ANC.”<\/p>\n

With 72 percent of the vote complete, the ANC is all but guaranteed another outright win, whether it gets a two-thirds majority or not.<\/p>\n
