African National Congress (AN) secretary general Fikile Mbalula says there is nothing to celebrate about the party\u2019s performance at the elections.<\/p>\n

On Sunday, Mbalula addressed the media at the National Results Operations Centre in Midrand on the outcomes of the polls.<\/p>\n

After 30 years of being in government, the party has lost its majority in Parliament, Gauteng, Northern Cape and KwaZulu-Natal.<\/p>\n

Mbalula said the ANC\u2019s national executive committee (NEC) would hold a meeting to reflect on the party\u2019s electoral decline.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhile the ANC has won the most results in this election, the results show a significant decline in the ANC\u2019s support from previous elections. While there are several factors that contribute to the decline in support, the results send a clear message to the ANC. We wish to send a message to the people of South Africa that we have heard your concerns.\u201d<\/p>\n
