The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) is proposing the formation of a coalition government consisting of black parties, after rejecting the African National Congress (ANC)’s government of national unity.<\/p>\n

The party has refused to join forces with organisations opposed to its policies and political ideologies.<\/p>\n

As of Saturday, parties have eight days left to agree on a coalition pact to govern the country for the next five years.<\/p>\n

Speaking at a media briefing in Sandton on Friday, EFF deputy leader, Floyd Shivambu, said the EFF would not compromise on its values.<\/p>\n

“We should constitute a coalition government that includes black political parties. There is no other way to simplify that – no DA [Democratic Alliance], no Freedom Front Plus in government.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet them be in the opposition and then let us constitute a progressive government that will respond to the aspirations of our people.”<\/p>\n
