Africa-Press – South-Africa. <\/strong><\/span>– Leader of the uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party Jacob Zuma is scheduled to give an update on recent political developments surrounding his political organisation on Thursday.<\/p>\n

The former head of state will be hosting a media briefing in Johannesburg, focusing on organisational issues and the future trajectory of the party.<\/p>\n

The briefing comes a week after former Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) Deputy President Floyd Shivambu announced his decision to join what is now the country’s official opposition.<\/p>\n

The exodus of senior leaders from the EFF to the MK Party is expected to feature prominently in Zuma\u2019s address.<\/p>\n

Former EFF member of Parliament (MP) Mzwanele Manyi, who also serves as spokesperson of the Jacob Zuma Foundation, is also among those who ditched the red berets for the MK Party.<\/p>\n

Thursday\u2019s media briefing comes as the political organisation has fired 18 of its members and removed them from its parliamentary list.<\/p>\n

Ten of the 18 disgruntled members have turned to the Western Cape High Court, hoping to overturn their expulsion from the party.<\/p>\n

Zuma is expected to brief the media at 12:00 on Thursday afternoon.<\/p>\n
