Africa-Press – South-Africa. <\/strong><\/span>President Cyril Ramaphosa says while shopping malls in townships boost economic activity, they don’t accommodate small local businesses.<\/p>\n

The president says his administration is working on creating formal markets in the township that will make it easier for small businesses to trade.<\/p>\n

Ramaphosa was on Friday speaking at the Presidential Imbizo at the Tsakane Sports Stadium, in Ekurhuleni.<\/p>\n

The first citizen said he had heard the cries from the residents about a lack of support for local businesses in the township.<\/p>\n

\u201cShopping malls, as much as they are nice and good, they don\u2019t accommodate the small and medium enterprises in our townships. Now we want to create markets in our townships so that those who make things must have space to sell their things. Those who trade must have space to trade their things so that there\u2019s economic activity in one central place.\u201d<\/p>\n
