Africa-Press – South-Africa. <\/strong><\/span>The African National Congress (ANC) and ActionSA in Tshwane have accused the governing coalition in the metro of neglecting black townships.<\/p>\n

This has partly motivated both parties\u2019 call to remove Mayor Cilliers Brink from his top post.<\/p>\n

Despite this, Brink is set to keep his job for another two weeks, pending the completion of legal matters in this regard.<\/p>\n

<\/b>
\nWhen Brink was elected mayor in March 2023, the ANC said it would give him a chance to prove himself. ANC regional secretary, George Matjila said the scorecard is in and Brink has failed.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have always complained about the lack of service delivery more particularly in the townships, when they speak about improvements, they don\u2019t represent what is happening in the townships.\u201d<\/p>\n

ActionSA\u2019s caucus leader in Tshwane, Jackie Mathabathe echoed Matjila\u2019s sentiment.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe need to take services to the people ground. We have suffered a lot, our townships have suffered a lot without services. Our mandate is very simple, put yourself last and put the residents first.\u201d<\/p>\n

ActionSA says it is currently reviewing its participation in the DA-led coalition government in Tshwane.<\/p>\n
