Africa-Press – South-Africa. <\/strong><\/span>Members of the African National Congress (ANC)\u2019s National Executive Committee (NEC) are spread across Gauteng and Western Cape on Sunday to discuss the outcomes of its NEC lekgotla with the party\u2019s structures.<\/p>\n

In August, the NEC held its first lekgotla since the May elections in which the party lost its parliamentary majority and saw declines in three provinces.<\/p>\n

The lekgotla tackled various issues, including the formation of the Government of National Unity (GNU) and the ANC\u2019s strategy for recovering from its dismal electoral performance.<\/p>\n

The ANC’s national leadership will be meeting with its regional leaders, branches, and provincial executive committees to reaffirm the party\u2019s commitment to its resolutions and manifesto.<\/p>\n

These engagements are part of the party’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its ties with communities and boost its organisational capacity.<\/p>\n

The NEC lekgotla identified unemployment, inequality, and poverty as key factors behind its significant electoral decline.<\/p>\n

The NEC has determined that decisive action is needed to eliminate corrupt and arrogant leaders who have strayed from the party\u2019s core values and principles.<\/p>\n

ANC Deputy President Paul Mashatile will engage with party structures in Ekurhuleni, Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula is in Turffontein, and other NEC members are spread across various communities in the Western Cape.<\/p>\n
