Africa-Press – South-Africa. <\/strong><\/span>The uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party has a second councillor in KwaZulu-Natal, after winning by-elections in Ward 14 in KwaMadlala.<\/p>\n

Eleven by-elections took place in parts of the province on Wednesday, mostly contested by the African National Congress (ANC), Democratic Alliance (DA), MK Party and the Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP).<\/p>\n

The MK Party\u2019s Pat Madlala got 51% of the votes in the Ward 14 by-election in the Ray Nkonyeni Local Municipality, snatching the ward from the ANC in the lower south coast of the province.<\/p>\n

The ANC got 39%, while the IFP received 8%.<\/p>\n

In June this year, the former speaker in the Umzumbe Local Municipality, Sibonelo Maphumulo, became the first MK Party councillor in the country after leaving the ANC for the MK Party.<\/p>\n

Madlala is the second party councillor in the province after securing victory in the latest by-elections.<\/p>\n

The MK Party’s national organiser, Floyd Shivambu, referred to this as a decisive victory.<\/p>\n
