Africa-Press – South-Africa. <\/strong><\/span>The African National Congress (ANC) has suffered another blow in the courts in the Democratic Alliance\u2019s (DA) ongoing cadre deployment case against it.<\/p>\n

On Friday, the Johannesburg High Court dismissed an application by the ANC for leave to appeal a judgment, that it is in contempt of court for not handing over all its records on cadre deployment decisions as per a previous court ruling.<\/p>\n

In Friday\u2019s judgment, the court found the ANC did not advance any new grounds that would suggest another court would come to a different conclusion that it has failed to comply fully with the order to hand over the documents.<\/p>\n

In the ongoing battle between the DA and the ANC over cadre deployment – the ANC has been found wanting to disclose its full paper trail on its cadre deployment decisions – having to date only handed over redacted records.<\/p>\n

The DA wants the full records to prove that the ANC\u2019s patronage network led to State capture and corruption.<\/p>\n

In February, the Constitutional Court gave the ANC five days to hand over its cadre deployment records dating back to 2013 when President Cyril Ramaphosa chaired the committee.<\/p>\n

This included all meeting minutes, CVs, emails and phone messages.<\/p>\n

“Since our victory in the Constitutional Court which forced the ANC to release its cadre deployment records, we have uncovered a web of politically motivated appointments that have crippled service delivery and undermined the professionalism of the public service sector,” said DA spokesperson Willie Aucamp.<\/p>\n

Aucamp said as a key player in the Government of National Unity the DA won\u2019t shirk its responsibility to hold the ANC accountable for the sake of good governance and transparency.<\/p>\n
