Africa-Press – South-Africa. <\/strong><\/span>President Cyril Ramaphosa has expressed confidence in the ability of Eastern Cape police to crack the latest mass shooting incident.<\/p>\n

This followed the shooting of six community patrollers by unknown gunmen near Qumbu on Sunday evening.<\/p>\n

It is understood that the members of the community policing forum (CPF) were targeted while on patrol duty.<\/p>\n

Ramaphosa said he was both saddened and outraged by the incident.<\/p>\n

He said that the suspects would be apprehended, along with anyone who harboured such criminals.<\/p>\n

Presidency spokesperson Vincent Magwenya said: “Government will continue to work with communities to ensure our homes, neighbourhoods, and public spaces are safe and that criminals know they will pay for their deeds.”<\/p>\n
