Africa-Press – South-Africa. <\/strong><\/span>The African National Congress (ANC) said that it is disappointed by its alliance partner, the South African Communist Party (SACP) which boycotted an event marking 100 days of the Government of National Unity (GNU) on Monday.<\/p>\n

The SACP said it snubbed the event as a form of protest against the GNU.<\/p>\n

The SACP\u2019s Central Committee adopted a motion to oppose the ANC forming a coalition government with what it calls right-wing parties like the Democratic Alliance (DA) and Freedom Front Plus.<\/p>\n

Speaking ahead of the event at Luthuli House, ANC Secretary General Fikile Mbalula said they respect the SACP\u2019s decision.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey will miss the opportunity to reflect on the GNU and what we are doing in terms of the GNU led by the ANC, what the ANC has done in terms of government as a whole, in terms of accelerating a social transformation. It\u2019s an unfortunate situation because today we were supposed to start with a bilateral meeting with the SACP.\u201d<\/p>\n

[WATCH] The ANC is having an event today marking 100-days of the GNU (Government of National Unity) in office.<\/p>\n

However it\u2019s alliance partner, the South African Communist Party will not be attending.<\/p>\n
