Africa-Press – South-Africa. <\/strong><\/span>The final countdown to the 2024 matric exams has begun.<\/p>\n

Seventy-five thousand, six hundred and forty-seven candidates will write the National Senior Certificate exams in the Western Cape this year.<\/p>\n

The exams begin on Monday, with more than 66,000 candidates writing English Home Language, First Additional Language, or Second Additional Language in the morning sitting.<\/p>\n

Western Cape Education MEC David Maynier: “One hundred and twenty-three examination papers will be written at 474 exam centres before the exams end on Wednesday, the 27th of November. The scale of the matric exams poses a mammoth administrative challenge and we appreciate the tremendous effort of the Western Cape Education Department’s officials and school staff in ensuring that exams run smoothly and fairly.”<\/p>\n
