Africa-Press – South-Africa. <\/strong><\/span>The prosecution in the case involving former City of Cape Town Human Settlements MMC Malusi Booi and alleged 28s gang boss, Ralph Stanfield has asked for more time to properly put its case together.<\/p>\n

Booi, Stanfield and 24 others appeared at the Cape Town Magistrates Court on Wednesday, facing 54 charges including murder, fraud, and corruption.<\/p>\n

It was revealed in court that new evidence, which will require more time to investigate, had come to light.<\/p>\n

The billion rand tender fraud case now also includes Stanfield, his wife, Nicole Johnson, and associates.<\/p>\n

They\u2019re currently facing a list of charges in another trial currently underway in the Western Cape High Court.<\/p>\n

National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) spokesperson Eric Ntabazalila said that they were all accused of being part of Stanfield and Johnson’s criminal enterprise.<\/p>\n

“As we speak, we have 26 accused in this case. We have decided as the State to join the cases because they are overlapping. You will find in some cases, some of them were members of a gang and some were members of the enterprise, and they were working together, which means their activities were overlapping.”<\/p>\n
