Africa-Press – South-Africa. <\/strong><\/span>KwaZulu-Natal police have confiscated counterfeit goods worth R36 million during a raid on shops owned by foreign nationals.<\/p>\n

The operation was carried out in the Point area of Durban on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Officers also seized R200,000 in cash.<\/p>\n

Police spokesperson Robert Netshiunda said the shops were selling counterfeit items of luxurious brands for years now.<\/p>\n

“Police obtained search warrants for several shops which were raided on Thursday, leading to the recovery and seizure of the counterfeit clothing items, watches, and other big brand items.”<\/p>\n

Five people have been arrested and are expected to appear in court on Friday.<\/p>\n
