Africa-Press – South-Africa. <\/strong><\/span>President Cyril Ramaphosa will on Sunday participate in the launch of a renewables campaign at the G20 Leaders\u2019 Summit in Rio de Janeiro.<\/p>\n

Brazil is wrapping up its rotating presidency of the Global South this week, during which time it has prioritised social inclusion.<\/p>\n

The summit is being held under the theme \u2018Building a Just World and a Sustainable Planet\u2019.<\/p>\n

The G20 is the premier forum for global economic cooperation and governance, representing 85% of global gross domestic product (GDP).<\/p>\n

South Africa will officially be handed the G20 presidency this week under the rallying call of solidarity, equality, and sustainability.<\/p>\n

The bloc, which represents 75% of the world\u2019s population, is a vehicle for promoting multilateral cooperation by bringing together the world\u2019s leading economies to ensure global economic stability and sustainable growth.<\/p>\n

The Presidency said Ramaphosa will hold bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the Leaders\u2019 Summit in the coming days.<\/p>\n

South Africa is the only African nation that is part of the bloc, which includes 19 countries as well as the African Union (AU) and the European Union (EU).<\/p>\n

The Presidency said South Africa\u2019s participation in the G20 seeks to provide strategic direction in establishing a more equitable, representative, and fit-for-purpose international order.<\/p>\n

On Monday, Ramaphosa will deliver South Africa\u2019s statements at the various plenary sessions.<\/p>\n
