Africa-Press – South-Africa. <\/strong><\/span>Public Service Administration Minister Mzamo Buthelezi said in order to build a fully effective public sphere, government must implement what he called the professionalisation of the SOEs.<\/p>\n

He said that this entailed the implementation of competency-based recruitment processes, training of officials and the establishment of ethical leadership.<\/p>\n

The minister was among the speakers at the Public Protector’s conference on promoting good governance in Ekurhuleni on Monday.<\/p>\n

“Professionalisation in that context will ensure that those entrusted with public responsibilities serve with integrity, competence, and an unwavering focus on the needs of the people. The Department of Public Service and Administration has been working to embed these principles into our public service framework to ensure the delivery of quality public goods and services.”<\/p>\n
