{"id":8289,"date":"2021-04-13T17:36:53","date_gmt":"2021-04-13T17:36:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/south-africa\/?p=8289"},"modified":"2021-04-13T17:23:07","modified_gmt":"2021-04-13T17:23:07","slug":"zarclear-seeks-to-delist-as-shareholding-falls-below-spread-requirements","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/south-africa\/all-news\/zarclear-seeks-to-delist-as-shareholding-falls-below-spread-requirements","title":{"rendered":"Zarclear seeks to delist as shareholding falls below spread requirements"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/\">Africa-Press<\/a> &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/south-africa\">South-Africa<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>CAPE TOWN &#8211; ZARCLEAR Holdings\u2019 board said yesterday it was in the best interests of the company and its shareholders for it to delist from the JSE and A2X.<\/p>\n<p>In November, Zarclear\u2019s public shareholding fell below the minimum spread requirements for companies listed on the JSE\u2019s main board due to the take-up of the general offer to Zarclear shareholders by Legae Peresec Capital.<\/p>\n<p>Zarclear\u2019s board said in a statement yesterday that the decision to delist also took into account the impact the Covid-19 pandemic had had and was anticipated to continue to have on equity capital markets in general, and on small-market-capitalisation companies such as Zarclear for an extended period.<\/p>\n<p>Zarclear is an investment holding company whose operating segments are market infrastructure and regulation technology investments. An offer would be made to shareholders for the delisting.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShareholders are advised the company is in advanced stages of procuring a third-party offer to facilitate the proposed delisting.
