Africa-Press – South-Africa. <\/strong><\/span>The bail amendment matter involving crime intelligence boss Dumisani Khumalo has stalled in the Pretoria Magistrate’s court due to flooding in some courtrooms.<\/p>\n

The court was set to hand down judgment on an application brought by Khumalo and three co-accused.<\/p>\n

Khumalo and six others are facing fraud and corruption charges over the appointment of 30-year-old Dineo Mokwele to an executive position within Crime Intelligence.<\/p>\n

The prosecutors allege that she has no policing capabilities, knowledge or skills.<\/p>\n

But they have since been cleared of any wrongdoing in an internal SAPS process.<\/p>\n

Despite Khumalo and his co-accused being cleared of wrongdoing in an internal SAPS process, the investigating directorate is still pursuing them for fraud and corruption.<\/p>\n

One of their bail conditions in June was that they are prohibited from entering the premises of the Crime Intelligence Unit.<\/p>\n

Now that they have been cleared by SAPS, they have brought an application to court to challenge this condition.<\/p>\n

But the directorate’s Henry Mamothame said the matter cannot be heard on Monday.<\/p>\n

“Unfortunately, we couldn’t sit today. When we got here, we were told that most of the courtrooms flooded over the weekend \u2013 our matter had to be postponed therefore, we will possibly come back on Friday, should the clean up be completed. However, if the clean up is not completed the matter will sit on 29 September.”<\/p>\n

Earlier this month, the matter had to be heard in the Commercial Crimes Court as there were no court rooms available in the magistrates court.<\/p>\n
