Africa-Press – South-Africa. <\/strong><\/span>Born and raised in Ekurhuleni, ActionSA\u2019s mayoral candidate Xolani Khumalo says he knows exactly what it will take to bring the city back to its former glory.<\/p>\n

Khumalo, a well-known crime-fighting activist and host of the reality television show Sizok\u2019thola, was unveiled as ActionSA\u2019s mayoral candidate at an event in Tembisa on Saturday.<\/p>\n

ActionSA is the first of the established parties to name a mayoral candidate for the metro, ahead of the upcoming local government elections.<\/p>\n

During the announcement on Saturday, Khumalo arrived to a loud reception and was instantly swarmed by ActionSA supporters.<\/p>\n

Khumalo says the city of Ekurhuleni has been taken over by drugs and crime.<\/p>\n

\u201cSouth Africa is my home, Ekurhuleni is my home, and the love I have for this place is very big. I have experienced the ups and downs, the pain of growing up in this place. I understand very well what Ekurhuleni needs because I am from here, and I know how things should be here and how things were before.\u201d<\/p>\n

Khumalo says he doesn\u2019t have big, unrealistic promises for the people of Ekurhuleni except to say if he is elected as mayor, things will improve.<\/p>\n
