Africa-Press – South-Africa. <\/strong><\/span>The City of Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality has announced it has completed an investigation looking into a possible conflict of interest between the Deputy Mayor, Eugene Modise, and one of the city\u2019s service providers.<\/p>\n

The internal investigation was launched earlier this year following complaints by the Democratic Alliance (DA) over a company with links to Modise scoring hundred-million rand tenders from the municipality.<\/p>\n

The company, Triotic Protection Services, has been contracted to guard some of the municipality\u2019s critical infrastructure.<\/p>\n

Modise has previously admitted to being one of the owners of Triotic Protection Services.<\/p>\n

However, he says he resigned from the company before being an African National Congress (ANC) councillor in 2023.<\/p>\n

Tshwane Mayor Nasiphi Moya has denied accusations from the DA that she is protecting her deputy by concealing the investigation report.<\/p>\n

She said the report is with the speaker\u2019s office, and protocol dictates he should table it before the council.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe speaker tried to convene a special meeting, he was then advised by his legal team that \u2018we are not sure of the process to follow here, can we look for legal advice?\u2019 That legal advice, I think they are expecting it tomorrow, Wednesday. Our plan, and we have communicated this to the speaker, we don\u2019t want to delay this any further.\u201d<\/p>\n
