Africa-Press – South-Africa. <\/strong><\/span>Minister in the Presidency Khumbduzo Ntshavheni has revealed that Cabinet officials are not immune to corruption allegations but stresses that this does not make them guilty.<\/p>\n

Incumbent and former government ministers have recently been at the centre of corruption allegations, particularly accused of protecting the interests of criminal syndicates.<\/p>\n

Police Minister Senzo Mchunu, his predecessors Bheki Cele, and the late Nathi Mthethwa are among those named in the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry probing police corruption.<\/p>\n

Speaking at a media briefing in Pretoria on Wednesday, Ntshavheni emphasised that they are not guilty at this stage.<\/p>\n

“Ministers are not immune to allegations being levelled against them. The president has acted and constituted a commission of inquiry to go into the veracity of the allegations. The fact that the allegations has been made it doesn\u2019t mean you are guilty. The commission is underway to confirm or dispel the veracity.”<\/p>\n
