Africa-Press – South-Africa. <\/strong><\/span>ActionSA has called on the South African Police Service (SAPS) to address the criminals terrorising communities, citing the use of unlicensed firearms in crimes.<\/p>\n

The demand follows a recent incident in Boksburg, where six people were shot and killed, and three were injured on Saturday.<\/p>\n

ActionSA\u2019s Ekurhuleni Mayoral Candidate, Xolani Khumalo, noted in a statement that the incident in Reiger Park is not an isolated attack on communities.<\/p>\n

Last night, six people tragically lost their lives after the occupants of two Polo vehicles opened fire on them in Reiger Park.<\/p>\n

ActionSA states that these kinds of incidents have plagued many communities across the country. Residents in the affected areas are reportedly questioning the source of the weapons being used to terrorise them.<\/p>\n

Ekurhuleni Mayoral Candidate Xolani Khumalo urged the SAPS to collaborate with community crime-fighting forums to help curb the escalation of these tragic crimes.<\/p>\n

In the meantime, the SAPS has asked anyone with information on the drive-by shooting in Reiger Park to come forward.<\/p>\n
