Africa-Press – South-Africa. <\/strong><\/span>President Cyril Ramaphosa is in Angola\u2019s capital, Luanda, to attend the 7th African Union (AU) \u2013 European Union (EU) Summit, a two-day gathering aimed at strengthening political and economic ties between the two continents.<\/p>\n

The summit, hosted on the back of the successful G20 Summit in South Africa, the first ever on African soil, will see leaders engage on a range of critical issues as some regions across the globe continue to battle ongoing conflict.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s summit marks the 25th anniversary of the AU-EU Partnership.<\/p>\n

As a member state of the AU, South Africa will prioritise securing support from the EU region for the Second Ten-Year Implementation Plan of the AU Agenda 2063.<\/p>\n

The African Union\u2019s delegation is led by host President Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o as the chairperson of the AU, and Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, chairperson of the AU Commission.<\/p>\n

Europe is represented by the leaders of France and Denmark, alongside the president of the European Council, Anto\u0301nio Costa.<\/p>\n

The 7th AU-EU Summit is scheduled to conclude on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
