Africa-Press – South-Africa. <\/strong><\/span>Cape Winelands Airport has today announced a partnership with construction company WBHO to build a multibillion-rand airport at Fisantekraal Airfield.<\/p>\n

Plans are now underway to develop a state-of-the-art airport at the airfield, situated 13 kilometres outside of Durbanville.<\/p>\n

Cape Winelands Airport Director, Dion Cloete, says the airport expansion will cost about R8 billion and create more than 30,000 jobs, with a proposed opening date in 2027.<\/p>\n

Cloete says the project is now advancing to a crucial new phase of technical development and planning.<\/p>\n

“The signing of the joint development agreement with WBHO represents a critical and important milestone and allows now to move forward with WBHO as the main contractor and all of the professionals in preparing the detailed design ready for construction.”<\/p>\n
