Africa-Press – South-Africa. <\/strong><\/span>National Police Commissioner Fannie Masemola said that the South African Police Service (SAPS) could not afford to lose Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi among its ranks, pointing to his return as KwaZulu-Natal police head.<\/p>\n

Masemola has officially announced that Mkhwanazi will resume duties for another five-year term.<\/p>\n

This, while Mkhwanazi made explosive allegations of political interference in the police force are under the spotlight.<\/p>\n

All 11 districts and acting district commissioners in KwaZulu-Natal gathered at the police provincial headquarters for the official announcement by Masemola.<\/p>\n

Masemola outlined why Mkhwanazi was given a second term.<\/p>\n

“After careful consideration, reviews and assessments in terms of the work that General Mkhwanazi has done in this province, we came to an agreement, and I have given him another five-year fixed-term contract.\u201d<\/p>\n

Masemola said the State has spent a lot of money training him to be the calibre of an officer that he is.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe State has invested a lot in him, making him one of the most highly trained senior police officers in our ranks. His training includes the highest trained specialised task force, which made him an asset in the organisation.\u201d<\/p>\n

Masemola said Mkhwanazi’s reappointment will assist the SAPS to tackle serious and violent crime.<\/p>\n
