Africa-Press – South-Africa. <\/strong><\/span>Police in Mpumalanga have rejected allegations made in a video circulating online claiming officers in the Nkangala district are involved in drug trafficking.<\/p>\n

Authorities said that there is documented evidence of such operations and dismiss claims that incidents including the case of 54 children falling ill after eating snacks were covered up.<\/p>\n

The man behind the allegations has also been detained on a separate charge of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and is currently out on bail.<\/p>\n

Mpumalanga Police Spokesperson Donald Mdhluli said that the claims made are misleading.<\/p>\n

“This information assisted a lot and has led to successful operations by police, resulting in the arrests of suspects and the seizure of illegal substances, both in December 2025 and January 2026, information of which was partially provided by the very same person. It is therefore surprising and disturbing to hear the same individual now making statements that undermine the integrity of our officers who diligently responded to the tips he provided,” said Mdhluli.<\/p>\n
