Africa-Press – South-Africa. <\/strong><\/span>President Cyril Ramaphosa said \u201cnarrow agendas\u201d won\u2019t distract him and his presidency amid calls for him to come clean on the theft of foreign currency at his Phala Phala farm.<\/p>\n

Ramaphosa has instead called on parties to work collectively to resolve the country\u2019s many problems.
\nHe said while parties have differed on politics and policy, there is a broad agreement on matters confronting the country that need urgent attention.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday, Ramaphosa was responding to the debate on the Presidency budget, which he tabled on Tuesday, in the National Assembly.<\/p>\n

During the debate, Ramaphosa faced calls to take the country into his confidence and come clean on the Phala Phala cloud hanging over his head.<\/p>\n

But the president said that political noise won’t deter him.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe won\u2019t be distracted by narrow agendas that have nothing to do with the interests of people of South Africa.\u201d<\/p>\n

He said South Africans want solutions to the problems confronting the country, like unemployment and slow economic growth.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey expect us to come with solutions, they expect leadership from us, they expect accountability and results.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ramaphosa also noted a few positive reforms, like how the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (PRASA) and Transnet, which were once embroiled in State capture, are now being revived through reforms.<\/p>\n
