Africa-Press – South-Sudan. Former Managing Director of state-run oil company Nilepet Paul Adong was found dead in his hotel room in the United Arab Emirates, a South Sudanese diplomat said.
Gondo John Aguek, South Sudan’s Consul General to the Emirate of Dubai, told Radio Tamazuj this afternoon that the embassy was called by police to the hotel where they found Adong’s body in his hotel room on Saturday.
According to the South Sudanese diplomat, details on the cause of Adong’s death are yet to be disclosed. “We can confirm that it is Paul Adong’s body, and his family members are still coming so that the initial procedures can begin,” Kondok said.
The late was the first Managing Director of the National Petroleum Company until his sacking in 2015. After his removal by President Salva Kiir, Paul was transferred to the Ministry of Petroleum where he served briefly before establishing his private oil company.
