Africa-Press – South-Sudan. Tax defaulters have been put on notice as the National Revenue Authority (NRA) plans to crack the whip on non-compliance.
The tax collectors warned that it will start an aggressive drive to ensure that remittances are properly captured.
“The NRA wishes to inform you that the filing and payment period for monthly taxes, sales taxes, excise tax, PIT-Withholding, PIT for entrepreneur and outstanding arrears, and the second quarter of Business Profit Tax 2022 is due on July 15th, 2022,” NRA stated in the notice.
“NRA officers will carry out enforcement visits to taxpayer’s premises to recover any debt due to the government,” added the taxman.
The notice published in a local newspaper directed the taxpayers to file their tax returns for the period of April 1 to June 30, 2022.
The tax collector stated that the bracket covers various forms of taxes.
They include sale tax, excise tax, PIT-Withholding, PIT for entrepreneureurs and outstanding arrears.
This comes at a time that the taxman is widening its net to surpass the set target for non-oil revenue by 30 per cent.
