Africa-Press – South-Sudan. Youth in Western Bahr El Ghazal have rolled out a five-day cleanup campaign in Wau town.
The exercise brought together more than 100 young men and women who cleaned the streets of the town before combing hospitals and market.
The campaign was organized by Youth United Development organization (YUDO) with an aim of keeping Wau Municipality clean.
While addressing media during the event, the Executive Director for AYUDO, Denis Joseph, said the campaign aims at promoting teamwork among the youth to keep the state clean.
“Working together strengthens teamwork among us and our state will remain clean every time because of team work,” he said.
Denis appreciated the youth for turning up in numbers in the voluntary exercise.
He called on the government to stand with the young people in their quest to keep the town tidy.
He called on the youth to embrace peace adding development can only come through such efforts.
The Deputy Vice Chancellor for Administration and Finance at University of Bahr el Ghazal, Prof Dr Hawa Marjan, lauded the youth to maintain the spirit of pursuing development.
