Africa-Press – South-Sudan. President Salva Kiir will over the weekend pay a visit to his home town of Kuajok in Warrap State for the first time in three years.

The president is expected to be among the congregants at St. Joseph Parish who will mark the Centenary Celebration over the weekend.

The head of state will make the trip to Kuajok through Wau in Western Bhar el Ghazal State to mark the day.

“The president will be going there for official visits to celebrate the 100 years of the Catholic Church in Kuajok,” Lily Adhieu, the Press Secretary in the office of the President, told City Review Digital.

President Kiir will be accompanied by a high-powered government delegation and church leaders.

The First Lady, Ayen Mayardit, is among the advanced delegation to Kuajok and is expected to join the president at the weekend event.

Kiir last traveled to Kuajok in 2019 on a peace mission.

Two months ago, four people, including three Syrian contractors, were murdered in Kuajok by a an SSPDF officer.
