Africa-Press – South-Sudan. At least 12, 000 bags of sorghum have already arrived in Unity State, ready to be distributed to people affected by floods.
According to Peter Bakuony, the Press Secretary in the Office of the Governor, 15 trucks, each carrying at least 800 sacks), safely arrived in the state ahead of the exercise that targets to caution over 2000 families.
The distributed exercise will be done in three counties: Koch, Mayiandit and Leer.
Besides the floods, the above-mentioned counties are also feeling the brunt of perennial violence that has displaced people from their original homes.
He added that the food that had been provided by the state government to her people was ready in the store to be distributed to the flood victims affected by the authorities’ concern in the mentioned counties.
The help came after hunger reports threatened the people of Unity State since a flood broke out in 2020.
