Africa-Press – South-Sudan. A trader has been arrested for shooting and wounding a man he alleged broke into his shop on Monday night in Bor town, the Jonglei Police Commissioner has said.

Major General Elia Costa says the shop owner he identified as only Kuol shot and injured 28- year-old Mathong in the leg after breaking into his shop.

The incident occurred at around 10:00 PM in the Malual Chaat area of Bor town.

The alleged wounded thief is currently under treatment at the Bor State Hospital.

“On Monday an accident happened at 10 pm in an area called Malual chaat a person came and broke into a shop and when the owner of the shop heard he shot and injured him in the leg, and he was taken to hospital and is currently under medication,” General Elia.

“The suspect was arrested and he is now in Bor Town Polic Station for investigation, The trader who shot the man is called Mathong 28 years and the suspect is identified as Kuol.”

Costa said the police are investigating the incident.
