Africa-Press – South-Sudan. A group of fifty-seven terminated UAP national staff may get their jobs back after the Ministry of Labor has ordered their reinstatement.
The Undersecretary, Mary Hillary Wani has resolved that the foreign insurance company, UAP reinstate the national staff it terminated and nationalize positions of Kenyan employees working from their country.
The resolution dated 4 October came three weeks after fifty-seven UAP national staff protested the domestication of Kenyan nationals who were considered as expatriates.
In a letter dated September 18th, the striking South Sudanese also complained of poor working environment.
They alleged that some of their colleagues had their contracts terminated for raising the concerns during meetings.
In the resolution signed by Undersecretary Mary Hillary Wani, the Labor Ministry demanded that the national human resource workers be trained and given full responsibility at the company.
It also called upon the insurance company to review the salary structure for the national employees according to its financial capacity.
The Ministry further recommended to the UAP management to comply and adhere to the resolutions of the institution without fail.
Simon Mabior, the information secretary of the UAP National Staff Association, read out the recommendations.

“Immediate resumption of all the UAP national staff for work, reinstatement of the terminated UAP national staff members, nationalization of UAP human resources department review of the UAP national staff salary structure,” the statement said.
The statement also condemned Nairobi-based staff who are working for UAP South Sudan business and nationalized the positions.
The leadership of the UAP National Staff Association have welcomed the decision by the Ministry of Labour.
