Africa-Press – South-Sudan. The Bari Community Association has officially resumed its activities after Juba County commissioner lifted his predecessor’s order, disbanding the association and closing down the Bari Center in Juba town.
On 23rd February 2023, former Commissioner of Juba County Charles Josepha Wani directed the dissolution of the Bari Association following wrangles among the members.
In a separate directive, the ex-commissioner directed Payam head chiefs and Boma executive chiefs to reorganize their communities, in a move criticized by the chairman of Bari Community Stephen Pitia Laku, as unconditional and politically motivated.
However, on Sunday, incumbent Juba County Commissioner Emmanuel Tete Ezbon issued a local order lifting the closure of the disbanding of the community association and the closure of its center.
Commission Ezbon authorizes the association’s executive council and the youth association to return and resume their normal duties at the Centre.
He has also dissolved the caretaker committee of chiefs and handed back the administration to the Bari Community Association.
The order directs the chairman of Bari Community Council to request in writing the convening of the emergency general assembly in four weeks.
