Africa-Press – South-Sudan. The Center for Peace and Advocacy (CPA) has called on South Sudan’s Reconstituted Transitional National Legislative Assembly to establish an official website and Facebook page to enhance transparency and improve public access to parliamentary information.
In a statement released Wednesday morning, CPA’s Executive Director, Ter Manyang, expressed concern over the continuing lack of digital access to the parliament’s work.
He said that the absence of a formal online presence leaves citizens uninformed about legislative debates, national policy decisions, and other critical matters.
“South Sudan’s National Parliament continues to operate in a vacuum, with no formal platform for citizens to follow or understand what is being discussed or passed in their name,” said Ter in an interview with Eye Radio.
He emphasized that launching an official website and maintaining an active social media presence—particularly on Facebook—would enable real-time updates, strengthen democratic governance, and promote the rule of law.
CPA argues that these digital tools are vital for civic engagement, reducing misinformation, and building trust between citizens and their elected representatives.
The organization urges the national parliament to prioritize this initiative and work closely with civil society groups and development partners to ensure its success.
