Africa-Press – South-Sudan. Defection among political parties in search for power has been a continuous philosophy within political camps in the country however it is not known clearly when will this finish.
Over the weekend, Sudan People’s Liberation Movement in Opposition Kitwang faction led by General Simon Gatwech Dual confirmed that its spokesman General William Gatjiath Deng and General Gattiek Diar have both defected from the group to join the South Sudan People’s Defense Forces (SSPDF).
Civil Society Organization in its part stressed out that the culture of defection among political parties in the Country was a tactic of dragging feet for timing that transitioned the Country from violence to peace.
Edmund Yakani, Executive Director of Community Empowerment for Progress Organization said that the philosophy of defection amongst political establishment in the country was an approach of dragging feet for timing that transitioned the country from violence to peace.

Furthermore, Yakani jagged out that it was essential for political elites to know that the country was tired of violence and giving chance to peace wasthe only decisive option for any political elite.
“Armed struggle option is providing to be not working or harder to persuade now because of its heavy cost and implications. Since now dialogue for political difference settlement seems to be the only option and then political will for the use of dialogue for concrete political difference settlement should be embraced by the conflicting parties in South Sudan. The incumbent government should take honest commitment for the use of political dialogue with various opponents seriously and base on concrete political solutions to the crisis the country is facing, It is time for our parliamentarians to take an effective role to utilize the good aspiration enshrined in the Revitalized Agreement on the Resolution of Conflict in South Sudan for transitioning the country from the culture of armed struggle for a political settlement of differences to the culture of dialogue for seeking a concrete political solution to the political instability the country is facing. The ball for scoring successful transition of South Sudan from violence to peace is now at the hands of our parliamentarians through the genuine implementation of the provisions of the Revitalized Agreement on the Resolution of Conflict in South Sudan. He urged the leadership of the parliament and parliamentarians to take a national stand for making peace prevail in the country. “It is clearly proved that majority of persons who are using a military uniform approach with political interest are confused and have no clear vision on why we struggle for an independent country,”
CEPO is to be fully engaged in advocating for the revitalized transitional national legislature to stand firm for the successful political transition of the country from violence to peace through genuine implementation of R-ARCSS provisions as stipulated in the agreement signed document
