Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>South Sudan\u2019s Minister of Cabinet Affairs Martin Elia Lomuro has urged citizens in the country to contribute to the implementation of the revitalized peace agreement by contributing money, saying citizens of the world help their governments operate.<\/p>\n

South Sudan government and a number of rebel groups signed a revitalized version of the 2015 peace agreement in 2018.<\/p>\n

Known as Revitalized Agreement for Resolution of the Conflict in the Republic of South Sudan (R-ARCISS), the peace deal has largely stalled at chapter two which deals with security arrangements.<\/p>\n

According to the provisions of chapter two, the signatories of the agreement shall assemble, train and reunify their forces to create the country\u2019s first professional national army hope to be free from tribalism and political affiliation.<\/p>\n

The government has argued that it lack the badly needed funds for the implementation of the security arrangements, but the international community has asserted lack of political will from the parties to implement the deal.<\/p>\n

Speaking in an interview the Juba-based Miraya Radio, Minister Lomuro said the government has only received money from the business community and has not receiving anything from the ordinary citizens.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe only contribution we have received is from the business community, where are the rest of South Sudanese?\u201d Lomuro asked.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe world over, people help their government. South Sudanese can contribute money or food to make the peace process move forward,\u201d he stressed.<\/p>\n
