Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>South Sudan people\u2019s Defense Forces (SSPDF) has dispatched heavy machine guns, artillery and armored vehicles to the restive Warrap state for disarmament, according to the state governor Gen. Aleu Anyieny who asked civilians to handover their guns before the government can use force.<\/p>\n

Speaking to the media in Juba as armored vehicles and weapons are exiting Juba for Warrap, Gen. Aleu asked the civilians to handover their guns to the government, otherwise the government will take necessary measures, he said, that will make sure that civilians are disarmed.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll these equipment are for peaceful disarmament for Warrap state. I appeal to the people of Warrap, after yet another year of Warrap, to stop the fighting in cattle camps,\u201d Gen. Aleu said.<\/p>\n

\u201cToday marks the beginning of disarmament, peaceful disarmament and I am appealing to the people of Warrap, please handover your guns peacefully. If you fail to do so, then we will have other means to disarm you,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

He said he won\u2019t return to Juba, but will stay in Warrap until when the disarmament process is completed and told the civilians that the government will protect them and their properties and should handover their gun.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are not returning to Juba, we are going to stay here to protect you and protect your properties and from seeing problems coming from elsewhere because you will be protected by the government,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

\u201cBy this appeal, I would like to thank the president and all the organized forces for the response to our appeal,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
