Public school Students yesterday revealed signs of skepticism demanding extension for the secondary Certificate of examination time frame by the national Ministry of General education.<\/p>\n

This came after some students from public schools raised a series of concerns regarding lack of curriculum coverage due to the interval of time taken by the overwhelming strike that almost kept teachers and students home for weeks months ago.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Juba Monitor, James Juma a science senior four (4) candidate said that the examination time frame decided by the Ministry of education was not enough for them since there were a number of topics they never covered in some subjects such as Mathematics, Physics and chemistry.<\/p>\n

He said that the ministry of education would have extended the examination time frame to late April or May to enable some public schools to cope with their standard of coverage.<\/p>\n

\u2018\u2019We are truly not contended with the examination time frame announced by the Ministry of Education scheduling exams for 18th \u2013April-2022. The time frame is not enough for us since we have not yet covered the entire syllabus within the curriculum. In the science section, Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry have not yet been completed and yet we are soon meeting examination deadline\u2019\u2019. He said<\/p>\n

Furthermore, James reiterated that students would be more enthusiastic for the examination once its time frame is extended to May. \u2018\u2019If the Ministry of general education extends the examination time frame, we shall be more ready since we shall be concentrating towards finishing our incomplete curriculum while revising\u2019\u2019 James reiterated<\/p>\n

However, Margret Dwoki a female candidate doing arts said that upon the strike some weeks back, students were exempted from lessons making most female learners from the public schools to focus on domestic activities and income is generating jobs. She urged the Ministry of General education to give special consideration for public schools to cover the entire uncovered syllabus.<\/p>\n
