Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>The governor of Eastern Equatoria State, Louis Lobong Lojore, has dismissed Joseph Aye Joseph Oswaha from his position as Interim Chairperson of the Sudan People\u2019s Liberation Movement (SPLM) Torit County.<\/p>\n

Governor Lobong, who is also the Eastern Equatoria State SPLM Interim Chairperson, did not cite any reasons for the removal of Oswaha in his order No. 1\/2022.<\/p>\n

In a separate order, dated March 16, 2022, Lobong also appointed Stephen Rafo Albert Atari as the new Torit County SPLM Interim Chairperson with effect from March 16, 2022.<\/p>\n

Oswaha was appointed SPLM Interim Chairman for Torit County and Torit Municipal Council early last year, though in different months. Oswaha who spoke to The City Review on Monday, welcomed his replacement, saying he was loaded with a lot of assignments.<\/p>\n

\u201cI accepted it because I was loaded. Two positions. I am the Chairman of the Torit Municipal Council of the SPLM and [at] the same time, the Chairman of Torit County. So, it is now good if they have taken this one and they look at the Chairman of Torit County. He is very good. This is the work of our Party,\u201d said Oswaha.<\/p>\n

The City Review could not reach the new SPLM Interim Chairperson for Torit County for comments. Last month, the SPLM intensified their mobilisation drive in Eastern Equatoria State to expand its territory ahead of the much anticipated 2023 elections.<\/p>\n

Lobong extended the SPLM campaign to Magwi County, where he prevailed on his subjects to embrace the party and not be left out in the next administration should the country actualise the elections.<\/p>\n

\u201cEastern Equatoria Governor Louis Lobong Lojore used the event to call on the people in the refugee camps to come back home and rebuild their lives in a dignified manner,\u201d the press statement from Eastern Equatoria Press stated,<\/p>\n

\u201cLobong encouraged the people of Magwi to vote for SPLM in order to get a state of their own in the upcoming period, according to a statement from the governor\u2019s press unit.<\/p>\n

The governor\u2019s message received a backing from his party\u2019s acting Secretary-General of the Sudan People\u2019s Liberation Movement (SPLM), Peter Lam Both, who also called for unity ahead of the planned poll.<\/p>\n

\u201cElections are coming in 2023, almost tomorrow, and your work as members of SPLM is to unite people, register their names, and tell the people we are moving towards elections.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo the youth in Torit, Eastern Equatoria State, we need to co-exist among ourselves and everybody [needs] to be peaceful in the country because we don\u2019t want another conflict in the country,\u201d Lam said.<\/p>\n
